Trail Overview
The Little Pine / Santa Cruz Trail loop is an epic back country ride. Starting from the Upper Oso Campground, you make a long, sustained climb up the Buckhorn Rd OHV road. Along the way you'll pass the Camuesa Connector Trail. At Camuesa Rd turn left toward Big Pine. Later make a left at the concrete platform toward Happy Hollow.
The descent along the Santa Cruz Trail is 7 miles of single track bliss.
How to find It
North on hwy 154 towards Lake Cachuma. Over bridge and right on Paradise Rd. Go to Upper and Lower Oso campgrounds (follow signs). Park at Upper Oso. Park near the gate on the OHV road to the right of the campground.
Typical Conditions
There are hazards that include poor trail condition, shale slides, and exposure. The trail becomes muddy glue when wet, so it should be avoided for many days after a rain.
Current Conditions
A couple sections have major shale slides. Use precaution when crossing.
