IMBA's and SBMTV's 3rd Annual National Take a Kid Mountain Cycling Day was a great success! Approximately 20 participants gathered at Ellwood around 12 noon. First a short introduction and trail safety talk was given by Jed Hirsch. A nature stop was included in the route around Ellwood Mesa. Chris Lang from Friends of the Ellwood Coast gave another wonderful and interesting talk/tour of the Ellwood Monarch Butterfly Grove. Afterwards a number of riders gathered at the refreshment table setup by SBMTV'er Dorothy LittleJohn. Peanut butter, jelly, bagels, fruit, sodas, and juices where all set out and devoured by the riders... *Special thanks to volunteers Damon Eckert, Dorothy Littlejohn, Paul Herning, Dave Phreaner, Jed Hearsh, John Berbert, Chris Lang, Becca Sampson, Michael Blake, and Rubayi with the Ciyt of Goleta!
