SBMTV Aid Station for the Santa Barbara Century

SBMTV Volunteers!

On October 20th, SBMTV volunteers helped make this year’s Santa Barbara Century Ride a great success.

Each year, SBMTV organizes and hosts an aid station located halfway up Gibraltar road. We have volunteers on hand to cheer riders, offer water and snacks, and fulfill any other unusual requests we might receive (such as freshly picked fennel leaves!). Cyclists enjoyed cooler temperatures than years past, and shifting clouds that obscured any view of how far off the top is.

SBMTV chose Coalition for Sustainable Transportation (http://coast-santabarbara.org) to receive a $1000 donation from the proceeds of the event. As in years past, the century riders, members of the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition, and organizers of the Santa Barbara Century Ride were impressed by the volunteer support from their local mountain bike club.

A big thanks to all who participated!
