Trail Overview
Elings Park is a more than 200 acre park in the coastal hills next to the Santa Barbara Mesa neighborhood. Many trails intertwine throughout the park. While the trails are the main attraction to SBMTV members, there are also soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, an RC car track, and a BMX track. The trails here are ideal for building the skills you'll need to tackle the more challenging front country trails.
How to find It
FROM 101: Exit Los Positas and head towards the ocean. The main park entrance is on the left hand side of the road. There is a second entrance off of Cliff Drive. Most of the riding is toward the ocean from the main entrance. A good starting point is to drive or ride to the parking lot at the top of the hill, and look for the trails leaving uphill from there.
Typical Conditions
Hard varied soils. It can be very muddy after a large rain, but loose and sandy in areas at the end of the dry season.
Current Conditions
Mostly hard packed, with some sandy sections until our first real rain.
