Trail Overview

The Cold Springs West Fork trail comes down from Gibraltar Rd and joins the main Cold Springs trail near the bottom.

How to find It

The upper trail head is at the big switchback on Gibraltar Rd. The lower trail head is just a bit up from the bottom of Cold Spings trail. The upper trail is smooth and steep, and parts are loose. The lower trail follows a seasonal creek. The lower trail becomes rocky and has a couple of challenging sections.

Typical Conditions

Typical SB front country: rock gardens, exposure, hard pack trail, loose toward the end of the dry season.
